Flo Leighton, MS, RN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified mental health nurse practitioner and adjunct faculty member at New York University College of Nursing, knows firsthand the toll nonstop work takes. In her private practice in Chelsea, New York, she counsels health care professionals—including nurses and nursing students—on stress, burnout, and the critical role of self-care. Her experience also includes working in inpatient psychiatry and the adult ER at NYPH/Columbia University Medical Center.
