How to Become an Adult CCRN®
Ready to take the next step in your nursing career? Becoming an Adult CCRN® (Critical Care Registered Nurse) is a great way to expand your expertise and advance professionally. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you meet the CCRN® certification requirements and prepare for success.
Step 1: Make Sure You Qualify
Before applying, confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements. You’ll need a current U.S. RN or APRN license, plus one of the following:

-
Option 2: A minimum of 2,000 hours of direct bedside care of acutely/critically ill patients over the past five years, with 144 of those hours in the year prior to your exam application.*
*If you said “yes” to the above, you’re off to a great start!
