AACN Opposes Proposed Cuts to Healthcare Workforce Education
Earlier this month, the Trump Administration released its 2019 Fiscal Year budget, proposing major cuts to federal programs in both the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Education.
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) has openly opposed these cuts, voicing concern about the long-term impact such reductions could have on the nation’s ability to prepare a well-educated healthcare workforce. The AACN stresses that continued investment in nursing education and training is critical for ensuring that nurses are equipped to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.
