Reducing content areas from 4 to 3

A Shift Toward Applied Knowledge

One of the most important changes is the move away from traditional “Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities” (KSA) statements and towards Applied Knowledge. Below is a short list of what the exam will emphasize starting in August 2026:

Scenario-based thinking

This means candidates must demonstrate how they would apply knowledge in practice—not just recall information.
