How Do I Become a PMHNP?
To become a PMHNP, you’ll need:

A master’s (MSN) or doctorate (DNP) in nursing with a focus in psychiatric-mental health

An active RN license

At least 2 years of full-time RN practice

2,000 clinical hours in psychiatric-mental health nursing within the past 3 years
-
30 continuing education hours in psychiatric-mental health within the past 3 years
Certification is earned through the ANCC.
